ART & SCIENCE of the SUCKER PUNCH

Jul 22, 2024

The Sucker Punch has been the downfall of many.

Even though its infamous reputation stems mostly from numerous cowards choosing to make it a primary weapon in their arsenal, it can offer positive aspects when being used for the sake of self-defense during an imminent assault.

Avoiding the Sucker Punch is simple when you understand that “action beats reaction.

When you have two subjects that are trying to reach the same target from the same spot, the one that leaves first usually has a better chance of making it there first.

This works the same in reference to punches. At very close distances (3 inches-4 feet) the person who chooses to throw a punch will most likely land their strike before their opponent’s reaction to block can make it to protect the target area.

Simply put, the closer you allow someone to you, the bigger chance you have of receiving a Sucker Punch.

Distance & space defuses the effectiveness of the Sucker Punch.

Maintain a distance of no less than 6 feet from your foe and you will have plenty of time to react and protect yourself when he attacks.

Also keep in mind that the Sucker Punch can be improvised to be used as a sneak attack during self-defense.

It is a great tool to use as a self-defense cheat weapon.
